Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Tether mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users, including business owners (admins) and employees (crew members) who access the App through an employer's account.

Who Can Use Tether

You must be at least 18 years old to create an admin account or use Tether as a business owner. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Employee accounts are created at the direction of a business owner. If you are an employee using Tether, your use is subject to these Terms and any policies set by your employer.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

Subscriptions and Billing

Tether is offered on a subscription basis. By selecting a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees:

  • Solo — $10/month (or $8/month billed annually): One admin seat, no linked employees
  • Crew — $25/month (or $20/month billed annually): Up to 5 employee seats included
  • Enterprise — $60/month (or $50/month billed annually): Up to 10 employee seats included

All plans include a 90-day free trial with full access and up to 2 linked employees. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — no refunds are issued for partial periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Employee Accounts

Employee app access is free for crew members linked to an admin account. As an admin, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring employees are informed about the app's data collection practices, including location tracking while clocked in
  • Obtaining any consent required under applicable employment laws in your jurisdiction
  • Managing employee access and removing accounts when employment ends

Location data is only collected from employees while they are actively clocked in. Employees are not tracked outside of active work sessions.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Tether only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations
  • Misrepresent your identity or business affiliation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems
  • Use the App to harass, threaten, or harm any person
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App

Your Data

You retain ownership of all business data, job records, and employee information you enter into Tether. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Intellectual Property

The Tether app, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Tether and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Tether's trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission.

Availability and Changes

We strive to keep Tether available and running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the App itself at any time, with or without notice.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes that affect core functionality or pricing.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Tether is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Your use of the App is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tether and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Tether and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the App in a way that harms other users or the service.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Data deletion follows our Data Deletion Policy.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts located in California.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
